Iran put a date on the Hormuz talks

End-of-day delta. The morning edition stands unchanged at 2026-09-11. This file does not replace it.

16 sources checked, 9 of them outside the watchlist. One lead story — a continuation of the Hormuz thread that the morning issue and an evening chat cut had only as rumour. Florida section omitted (nothing cleared the local bar after the evening cut).

Biggest late-Friday story not on this list: US equities rebounding off the oil pullback and the CPI print — tape, not a development. Second: Netanyahu’s Friday praise of the US blockade of Iranian ports — rhetoric on a six-month war. Third: Bund 10-year still near multi-year highs into the European close — continuation of Thursday’s ECB-driven repricing. The 25th-anniversary 9/11 ceremonies remain excluded as commemorations.

Geopolitics Energy & grid Independent corroboration

Earlier Friday, Gulf–Iran talks on a temporary Hormuz arrangement existed only as a Financial Times report — paywalled, stood up by Reuters, unconfirmed by either government. Late Friday that changed. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said foreign ministers from Iran, Iraq and other Persian Gulf littoral states will meet in Oman on Monday 14 September, and that the agenda includes the outcome of Iran–Oman negotiations on safe commercial shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. Al Jazeera (with AFP), Anadolu Agency, Xinhua and Iran’s Mehr News Agency all carried the same statement; Mehr timestamps it 6:00pm local on the 11th.

Baghaei said Iran remains “committed to ensuring the security of navigation in the strait,” and also that security “cannot be guaranteed” while US “aggressive actions and illegal interventions,” including the naval blockade, continue — so the announcement is a meeting date, not a corridor.

Oil settles earlier Friday already priced a partial fade on talk of talks (Brent $104.61, WTI $100.05). A published Monday in Oman is the first government-owned date on that track. It is still not the watchlist wake — that remains unpublished restricted-zone coordinates, a signed Iran–Oman corridor Muscat confirms, or war-risk/AIS that settles the IRGC counter-claim. Do not read Monday as a reopening.

The East-West pipeline, per Reuters and Arab News citing the Saudi energy ministry, is still on the precautionary shutdown announced Friday; no restart was reported through this cut (~9pm ET).

What this is — and is not

What moved. An Iranian MFA spokesman naming Monday 14 September in Oman, corroborated across wire and Iranian state outlets.

What did not. No published coordinates, no Muscat-confirmed corridor, no Joint War Committee relist, no new war-risk premium print, no pipeline restart.
